Heal Thine Ownself
If you are not willing to change some of your personal behavior please for heaven's sake switch to another tab. The information contained in this section is toxic to unchanging attitudes, it is difficult to apply, it requires a lifetime commitment, and will, if properly applied, put thousands out of work. So, if you don't have the stomach, please leave.
Please page down if you decided to stay. I didn't want to expose anyone to something that might be offensive.
Okay, so here we are, overweight, maybe puffing on a cigarette, eating preloaded fast food designed to clog every artery in your body, blood pressure through the roof... Had enough. You can still leave you know. Oh, you are curious how you are going to put thousands out of work. Actually it is quite simple. If we all stop smoking, exercise, eat appropriately, and relax, we will all be much healthier and use a lot less medical services and products. If that happens, there are less doctor appointments - except for regular check ups, less days in the hospital, less surgeries, less drugs consumed, less, less, less. And the folks that provide those will need to find other things to do. Don't worry, these are very smart people and they will do just fine. Remember those black disks with a little hole in them called record LPs. There were people whose only job was to put globs of vinyl on a press and make those records we all loved so much - the sound is still warmer than digital. Anyway, those folks found another occupation, making cassette tapes...go figure. Your job is to change yourself...literally heal yourself from the inside and mold yourself on the outside. How? Simple. Find a motivation.
Mine was the birth of my first granddaughter. I started doing the math. I was fifty-six when she was born. She would graduate from high school when I turned seventy-four. I would be seventy - eight when she graduated from college and eighty when she got married - if her dad keeps her away from the boys. But wait, I was five foot eight, and weighed over two-hundred and sixty pounds. I would be lucky to attend her grammar school graduation. I have to confess that I started out and did very well, at first. There was an accident playing organized softball that I will not discuss. I fell away from my motivation. Now, enter the second granddaughter and a new motivation. I wish it was that simple. What entered my life was a new medical condition. One that scared me and reminded me that I really need to change my lifestyle because it is the right thing to do. Yes, I want to be around as long as I can for my grandchildren, my children, my wife, my business partners, all of that, but what I realized was that I wanted to feel better and I did not want to burden those I love with taking care of me - because I would not take care of myself.
So, do you want to do the impossible? Do you want to change many of the habits you have developed over a lifetime of lazy choices? This section will give you every tool you need to do this. It is not easy. It is not simple. It is not quick. It is not without pain and sacrifice. It is however, rewarding to those around you. Those you love. So...just do it.
Please see the sub-tabs under this section for a variety of areas that can help you achieve success. There are also tabs that can help an employer understand how to assist an employee and save significant dollars on their group health plan. Check it out. Remember...you can leave this section anytime you want to. I promise it will be here the first time you fall off the horse, or pull both of your quadriceps trying to run to first base like you did when you were sixteen. I'm sorry, I said I wasn't going to go into that.
Good luck.
